About PTE

PTE Academic is a computer-based English test for non-native speakers planning to study abroad. It evaluates Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening skills. The test is completed in a single 2-hour session at a secure center. Unique to PTE, answers for the speaking section are recorded and evaluated digitally. Results are usually delivered within 24 hours.

The test reflects real-life academic content, including native and non-native accents. Questions often integrate multiple skills, e.g., listening + reading or reading + speaking.

How is PTE Scored?

Scoring Types:

  • Partial Credit: Points given for partially correct responses; wrong choices may reduce scores.
